Description

The species is referred to be most beautiful and sweet scented flower by  Hooker. The petiole exhales honey scented-resinous fluids which adds more           to the charm of the flower. Shrubs: average 5 ft.

elliptic, leathery, shiny, bright, green upper part, beneath pale brown, hairy.

Inflorescence truss, campanulate, nodding flowers, light pale to yellow bright  color; Flowers with pedicles.

Habitat and description

Found to be grown on rocks and spruce, woodland of oakbirch, in the ranges of 9500-14500 ft. and inhabiting in Eastern Nepal, Sikkim Himalayas, Arunachal Pradesh, Bhutan and China.

 

Rhododendron

   Amongst the many floral treaties of Sikkim Himalaya one of the earliest ones may be found over the genus Rhododendron (Gk. rhodo = red, dendrons = tree ).
