Tendong Reserve Forests, Pentong, Yoksom, Khabi Forest, Namchi, Rhenock, and Gyalshing.

Dhotrey, Mane Bhanzyang, Darjeelling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Ryang, Great Rungit, Rongsong, Bhutan (Punakha district and Tashigang district).

A perennial herb or undershrub 1- 2 m; epicalyx segments 4- 6, ovate to lanceolate, c-2.5 cm; fruit narrower, oblong- ovoid, 4.5- 5.5 x 1.2- 2 cm.

Quercetin- 3- robinobioside, quercetin- 3- glucoside, hyperin, quercetin and myricetin isolated from flowers (Chih Wu Hsueh Pao 1981, 23, 222; Chem.Abstr. 1981, 95, 156426 r).

Medicinal

Cures pneumonia. Roots are crushed and the juice is mixed with lukewarm water. Flowers used in treatment of chronic bronchitis and toothache.

Rhododendron
