Outside                                               : Darjeeling, Khasia Mountains, Punjab, Bhutan (Thimpu, Punakha, Tsongsa, Mongar, Bumthang

                                                            district), Himachal Pradesh, hills of Assam, Eastern Himalayas (Kumaon to Sikkim), Meghalaya,

                                                             Western China.

 

Morphological information

An erect-branched perennial herb, 1/2-21/2ft.high. Spreading hairs on the petiole and stem and with the brilliant silvery clothing of the under surface of the leaves and inflorescence sometimes extending to the upper surface. Rootstock very stout. Stems 6-24 inches; stout ascending or erect leafy. Leaves 2-6 inches, larger leaflets 1/2-11/2 inch, crowded or not, sometimes with deeply impressed nerves above, at others quire flat, teeth very numerous and acute; petiole rather stout; stipules usually membranous. Flowers yellow corymbose cymes. Petals obovate orbicular. Achenes on an elevated hairy receptacle.

Medicinal                          : Roots are used in diarrhoea.

 

Traditional

The juice is taken to treat stomach trouble, cough and cold. The root powder is considered to cure toothache and pyrrhoea ( Nepali System and Sherpa System).
