Outside : Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Nepal (3000- 4300 m), Bhutan.
Leaves opposite or in whorls of three long, narrow, prickly with spiny teeth. Flowers variegated rose pink and white in distant whorls in leaf axils forming a long interrupted spike.

Parts : Whole plant.
Status : Vulnerable.
Medicinal : The plants yield an essential oil used as incense and in the preparation of drug, agarbatties etc. Sometime it is also used in
swelling
and gastritis.
Traditional : The root paste prepared by the addition of Aconiutum spicatum, Stellera chamaejasme Linn and Telminalia Billefica is
