Habitat                       : A tall leafy herb. Thrives  well in moist places.

Distribution                 : Distributed in temperate region.

Sikkim                         : Yuksom.

Outside                       : Temperate Himalayas from Kumaon and Garhwal, Khasi and Aka hills, Manipur, Assam at an altitude of 1,200- 3,000 m.

Morphological information

A tall leafy herb 1.2- 3.6 m high. Stems tapering upwards hollow. Leaves alternate, cordate, broadly ovate, 12.5- 28 by 10- 25 cm, lower leaves the largest. Bracts ovate, soon failing off. Flowers shortly stalked fragrant, large funnel shaped, waxy white with inside of tube purple, outside often shaded green in terminal racemes. Perianth 10-15 an long, white, tube purple inside tips of segments rounded, curved. Stigma obscurely 3- lobed. Capsule 5- 7.5 cm.
