Description |
stem
10-25 cm, stout, often producing many branchlets from
base and forming large clumps measuring 30-90 cm in
diameter; leaves several, 15- 25 cm x 15-30 mm,
linear-oblong, conduplicate, recurved, flushed with
reddish-purple; inflorescence longer than leaves,
simple, axillary, densely many flowered; flowers 20 mm
across, white freely marked and flushed with pink or
purple; sepals and petals subequal, 8-9 mm long;
labellum entire triangular, shortly clawed, margins
erose, acute or blunt, the basal half fleshy and with a
retrose callus pointing across the mouth of a short
rectangular callus; column footless, obsecurely winged
near base. |
