Symptoms

Chlorotic lesions appear first near the leaf margin and progresses towards the centre in the form of ā€˜Vā€™ shape yellow spots. The vein turns brown and finally black in the affected area which may extend beyond the chlorotic region reaching the petiole and stem. The affected area turns brown and dies.


Favourable environmental condition for disease
Acidic soil favours the disease incidence.


Mode of transmission
The disease is transmitted from the affected plant debris of previous season left in the field.

Plant Protection Measures
- Follow crop rotation for 3 year with non- cruciferous crops.
- Hot water treatment of seed (50 degree centigrade for 10 mins).
